In October of 2022, PCV|VRM Seeds of Hope, PCV Murcor’s nonprofit, set out to partner with Shoes That Fit to provide elementary students in the Pomona, California school district with brand-new shoes.

Shoes That Fit tackles one of the most visible signs of poverty in America by giving kids in need new athletic shoes to attend school with dignity and joy, prepared to learn, play and thrive, helping more than 100,000 kids each year.

Through the generosity of our staff, PCV Murcor employees donated the monetary value of 20 pairs of shoes, and PCV|VRM Seeds of Hope matched pair for pair (or dollar to dollar) for a total of 40 pairs of shoes to school children in need!

Last month (January 2023), Shoes That Fit delivered the 40 pairs of shoes to two Pomona elementary schools. Below are a few pictures of the children that received shoes.

Together, Shoes That Fit and PCV|VRM Seeds of Hope are making an immediate and lasting difference for kids in need, giving them the confidence they need to step forward and thrive at school each day.

A new pair of shoes can be a life-changing event for a child. School attendance, self-esteem, and behavior improve. Physical activity increases. Smiles return. Shoes That Fit’s vision is that, one day, every child in America who needs new shoes gets new shoes, allowing all children the opportunity to reach their highest potential.
